I found TJB Remodeling on the Internet and was impressed by the number of 5-star reviews, so I contacted Jason. He first went over the project on the phone with me, gave me a ballpark figure of what it would cost, and then came to our house to meet with my husband and me to discuss the project in more detail. This was a tear-down of an existing deck, which we wanted to replace with a 3-season porch and a smaller, maintenance-free deck.
Based on the project needs, one of the things we needed to get done was adding an electric sub-panel. We wanted to get this done sooner rather than later, for other reasons, and contacted an electrician who bid the project (as it turned out) VERY high. As homeowners, we didn’t know it was high but Jason did. When we told him, he was on the phone immediately with his electrician and suffice to say that Jason saved us literally thousands of dollars on that part of the project.
His subcontractors are very good. We really liked the workers whom we got to know because they spent many days working at our house. The ones who did the tear-down, the finish carpenter, the painter, the electricians, and many more were professional and very good. Jason is someone who wants everything done perfectly, and it shows in expectations he has of the people he uses.
Jason also expects things to be done on the schedule he lays out at the beginning of the project. There have been a few delays but that, I think, is to be expected especially when there are things that are out of his control, including the weather. He visits his job sites regularly, to maintain communication with the customer and his subcontractors, which ensures that you know he’s involved in the project from start to finish.
Jason/TJB Remodeling is the real deal. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone! We will use him again, because he’s been such a pleasure to work with.
If you’re looking to do a remodel and you want quality work that gets done on time, look no further. Jason Budzynski is the kind of general contractor that you want coordinating and managing your project. He’s involved at all the right points throughout the project. His contractors show up on time and are good at their jobs. Jason did the design work for our 3-season porch and deck project and also created and managed the project schedule. He was intimately familiar with all of the details of our project and actively managed it to keep it on schedule to the greatest extent possible. We will use TJB for a planned master bath remodel and all future projects that we undertake.
I cannot speak highly enough about the incredible work done by TJB Remodeling on our season room addition. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Fantastic experience – HIGHLY recommend! We had seen TJB’s commercials touting Jason not only as an awesome dad, but as someone who could ‘Reinvent, Revive and Redesign’ our home. The project photos were of the quality and scope we needed, and we were impressed with the many positive reviews, so we contacted TJB for a quote. I was pleasantly surprised when Jason himself answered my call to set up a first meeting! We were struck by his enthusiasm, attention to detail and willingness to work with us to incorporate materials we already had. He listened to our ideas and offered suggestions based on his many years of experience and desire to provide a high-quality finished product. We were sent a link to the Buildertrend app which provided a project timeline and daily work schedules including names of contractors or inspectors, so we knew who to expect each day. Everyone who came to our house on TJB’s behalf was excellent - very respectful and always willing to answer questions or address concerns. The “J” crew was amazing! They were friendly, hard-working and a joy to have work on our home. Each day the site was left clean, and tools neatly arranged. Jason visited our job site several times a week to ensure the work was completed in the manner he expected. He runs a tight ship but doesn't expect anything from the crew, contractors, or homeowners that he doesn't expect of himself. In addition, there were no surprises with the contract. What we paid was on the original bid and any adjustments were made with mutual agreement. We could not be more pleased with the finished result and have received many compliments on the craftsmanship. And an added bonus is that our project was completed a full week early!

I had signed a contract with TJB to do a sportcourt addition onto our home...then shortly after we experienced a house fire and our entire house was destroyed. Jason with TJB Remodeling, with no hesitation, agreed to adjust the contract to include repairs to the entire home, which included gutting everything and rebuilding from scratch (except for stud frame and foundation.) Jason was an expert in dealing with the insurance aspects, which was extremely helpful for us, especially given all the stress and anxiety we were going through after the fire. Despite the challenging circumstances, Jason made the design planning process fun and turned the entire situation into a positive experience. Best part was that Jason and his team completed the entire house rebuild exactly on time. The quality of craftsmanship is second to none...I've never imagined having such a high quality home. The entire crew was always courteous, friendly, and professional. We had zero issues working with any members of the team...and even felt like we developed a few friends throughout the experience. Jason was obviously our primary contact--and working with him was a pleasure. He was entirely candid...never tried to oversell us on our design choices. Yet, he did give great advice when we needed it--but still gave us 100% freedom to make all final decisions, regardless of his opinions--zero pressure. Like any project of this magnitude, there were a few mistakes made, but in every case Jason and his team were willing and actually ambitious to correct the things we weren't happy with. So at the end of the project, I can honestly say we got exactly what we were hoping for. I hope whomever reads this seriously considers TJB remodeling, especially if you have a larger/complex project and need a highly professional team to guide you through the process. Not sure how we could have navigated this challenging situation and major project without TJB. I've worked with several other contractors in prior years, and never had the kind of service and success that we had with this project, despite all of the complexities in dealing with insurance and the urgency in getting our family back into our home after the fire. Jason and the whole TJB remodeling team were absolutely AMAZING to work with. We had a idea of what we wanted to do for our Kitchen remodel and showed some inspiration pictures to Jason. Jason took our ideas and ran with them, coming up with an amazing concept! His design vision was apparent the first time we met when Jason started discussing what he thought our space could look like. He presented ideas that we never would have thought of on our own. When he presented the bid he had a complete spec book with all of the finishes he was proposing to use along with full concept drawings. Jason came to our house to present his bid and took the time to go over the entire spec book and contract details to make sure we didn't have any questions. Once our project began we were impressed with the entire TJB staff and subcontractors that were used throughout the project. Jason held everyone to a very high standard to make sure the project went as smooth as possible and also made sure everything remained on schedule. You could tell that everyone enjoys working together and share Jason's high level of care to make sure no detail is missed. We can't thank TJB enough for taking our dream for our kitchen and turning it into something even better. We would highly recommend TJB Remodeling to anybody considering a home renovation project.

It’s like having a new house! We can’t stop marveling at our fantastic kitchen remodel courtesy of Jason Budzynski and TJB Remodeling. They transformed the boxy layout of our 1950’s-era Rambler into a modern, open-concept great room that looks like the reveal from the HGTV show that inspired our design. Not only did Jason completely grasp our vision for a contemporary kitchen with mid-century modern accents, he offered additional ideas and subtle touches that took the concept over the top. Then his talented crew and top-notch sub-contractors executed that plan to near perfection and exactly on-schedule. The gorgeous custom cabinets and island; the perfect interlacing of new oak flooring into the existing and the beautiful refinishing job; the painstaking color matching on the cabinets; and the expertise to realize we didn’t need a planned support beam and post; all of these elements reinforced that we made the right choice of contractor. Jason also expertly handled the few but inevitable glitches in a project of this magnitude, ensuring that everything turned out right in the end. In addition, we appreciated and regularly referenced the provided Buildertrend app that laid out the project schedule in detail, so we knew exactly what was happening each day, as well as providing a ready resource for the design plan and estimate right on our phones. An impressive blend of professionalism, artisanship and customer service…we highly recommend TJB Remodeling!

I am so very pleased with the results of my renovation. Jason and his crew transformed a sad, dilapidated breezeway into a much needed indoor living space. I now have a main floor laundry room, a mud room and pantry. It was a pleasure working with this company from start to finish. On the day they were to begin, in April of 2018, we were hit with over a foot of snow. I was surprised to see Jason show up with a snow plow. He cleared my driveway and walkway so they could start on schedule. I would recommend TJB to anyone who cares about professionalism, quality, reasonable cost.

We recently completed a full 5 week kitchen remodel with TJB Remodeling. Jason came prepared to our meeting with great ideas that met all our needs including small things like a pull out pantry and where the pull out garbage would be located. He was very responsive to any questions we had. He also had great subs working for him. They were always very neat (even with knocking down our ceiling and pulling out soffits. Everyday we came home with progress in the kitchen and little to no mess or dust to show there were workers there during the day. I couldn’t recommend them more!

I had 2 companies come in and say it would cost tons of money to move vents, cabinets etc, and Jason came in and said “I’m removing everything so do whatever you want! TJB Homes did an amazing job on our bathroom! We had many quotes where people came in seemingly knowing very little how to do the work giving outrageous prices. Jason came and had great ideas, knew how to take a bathroom apart and had a reasonable price for the job, and I knew he would take care of everything! Very responsive and on schedule. Recommended to many! Highly recommend giving them a call with any job.

I just want to say that the work crews that have been here have been awesome! Friendly and polite! I appreciate this because all day listening to hammering, nailing, saws, generators, and large equipment can be draining. Top that off with my obnoxious barking dogs and I am ready to lose it by 5pm (actually earlier).
The poor guy last night that came to put in the footings for the deck was especially respectful. He even saved you some money by working around my plants as best he could. (Not that the plants were really that big of a deal).
Your framing foreman gave me an idea for Dave to use as an interview situation question when hiring crew members. My dogs got into one of his crews lunches. Instead of getting upset with the dogs for eating someones lunch, he was concerned about the dogs getting sick from the lunch!

The punctuality of meetings and construction schedule was kept from beginning to end with no surprises other than my damp basement that required drain tiling. The schedule was modified and the project finished on time with very satisfying results... 3 bathrooms and one bedroom were completely demolished and constructed with extremely satisfying results. 3 Bathrooms & 1 bedroom Remodel Project
Thank you to the entire TJB Remodeling & Design team for delivering outstanding craftsmanship on my bathroom/bedroom remodeling project. In a matter of 8 weeks, 3 bathrooms were completely remodeled and unexpectedly, the basement bedroom and bathroom floor were drain tiled due to wetness issues uncovered during the demolition stage. Additionally, the basement bedroom walls were completely replaced and made ready for paint.
I interviewed a couple other contractors for the project and it became very clear that TJB Remodeling was my best choice to achieve the results I desired for this space. I am very happy with the results and working with the entire TJB Remodeling team was most enjoyable. Jason proposed several design ideas that made the most of the available bathroom space. Several times I relied heavily on their recommendations during these critical decision points.
Some of the TJB Remodeling characteristics I appreciated most were quality of craftsmanship, the creative design ideas, the detailed project proposal & planning, the printed schedule and strict adherence to the timeline. My only regret would have been if I chose a different contractor. I’m very happy I didn’t choose differently.

We hired Jason and his crew for the second time in less than two years because of the quality of work and because we trust them. We wanted to enclose our wrap-around porch, a signature on our traditional house. After coming out to talk about a ballpark estimate and to get some ideas, Jason suggested we instead add a 3-season porch off the side of our house. It was pure brilliance - better space, about the same cost and better resale for the future. Our specs: put us outside but minus the bugs and make it look like it was meant to be part of our house. Jason and his team designed the perfect space for us but it involved cutting off the “wrap-around” part of our porch. As we watched them take a circular saw to our porch roof, we said, “We’d would have only trusted TJB to pull that off!” Even though there was a snag with our new doors, the fault of the manufacturer, not TJB, Jason took care of the issue and of us. Not only do we enjoy working with Jason and the TJB team, Jason’s sub-contractors are always professional, friendly and top-notch. The project was wrapped up in the winter, so we’re looking forward to furnishing the room and enjoying our new awesome space in the spring!

When we met with Jason to talk about building an addition to our home, he expanded on our ideas by asking questions and sketching possible results. He brought experience and creative suggestions that produced a building plan that we could visualize and matched what we wanted. Several years ago I decided to knock down my wobbly deck on the back of my house and replace it with an all season porch. I went to several home improvement shows and did some research and choose TJB Homes. Over the years I have loved my all season porch and it became one of the favorite rooms in my house. This spring when I finally was ready to turn my small kitchen and small dining room into a large kitchen I again called TJB Homes.
I had a consultation with Jason. He presented a wonderful plan for my new space. I was told exactly how it would be built, what products would be used and how much it would cost. When construction started I was given a calender so I would know how long the project would take and dates of what would happen each day during the weeks to come and when the project would be finished. Without hesitation I hired TJB Homes to do this project.
TJB uses only the best sub-contractors. Not only were they talented in their craft, they worked very hard and kept everything on schedule. Every person who came in my house was friendly, polite and very respectful of me and my home.
One of the extra nice things TJB does is have a person come into clean when all the work is done. A wonderful young woman spent hours vacuuming, dusting and polishing my fabulous new kitchen.
I would strongly recommend TJB Homes. They are professional, ethical and willing to accommodate any request I had. It was a wonderful and fun experience.

Prospective TJB Customers:If you're considering any size remodeling project, and one or more of the following factors are important to you, we suggest you seriously consider Jason Budzynski and TJB Homes, Inc.
1. Good communication between homeowner and contractor. Jason was always available by phone or email. In the unlikely event we couldn't reach him immediately, he returned calls promptly. He never left us hanging. He also explained options to us and provided as much detail as we required throughout the entire project (which at times was significant).
2. Timely project completion. Jason developed and maintained a tight schedule, actually completing our project early.
3. One primary contact throughout the project. Of the contractors we considered, TJB was the only one with one primary contact from beginning to end. This worked well for us. Once we'd developed rapport and communications with one individual, we didn't want to be turned over to a project manager we'd never met. It also helped that Jason was adept in many diverse areas: project design; sales (he was persistent but not overbearing); contract negotiations (easy to understand contract and accommodating when we requested changes); contacts and personal expertise in areas not specifically in the contract (e.g., electronics, landscaping, underground sprinkler systems); problem resolution (practical solutions to issues bound to arise in any major remodeling project); project management; and construction worker (yes, he even ran the bobcat as needed).
4. Homes to visit: Jason took us to the homes of several previous customers plus TJB model homes so we could actually view some of the features we were considering. It really helped us visualize things.
5. Simple change orders: Our remodeling project was extensive and we added more as we went along. We were pleasantly surprised when Jason incorporated all of our changes into his project schedule without adding a single day. And there were no fees for change orders.
6. Assistance moving things: Without our request, Jason wrote into the contract that TJB would make arrangements for a POD to be delivered and that TJB employees would move larger items into it. Besides all the other positive factors, this was the decision maker since age and health issues made moving things difficult for us. We also had planned to move out for two or three weeks of the projected sixteen week project. When our doctor and Jason recommended we move out for the majority of the project, Jason and his employees moved us into and out of an apartment we found, without any moving fees. We are so glad we moved out and highly recommend it to anyone with an extensive remodeling project. The cost was insignificant compared to the total cost of our project and the damage the dust could have done to our health.
7. Professionalism: Jason was the ultimate professional in all types of situations and helped keep us balanced throughout the project. He also has a great sense of humor and worked well with subcontractors and city officials.
8. Home cleaned upon project completion: We were very satisfied with the cleaning done by TJB employees when our project was completed.
9. Satisfactory resolution of project issues. Less this list makes it appear that Jason and TJB Homes walk on water, there were a few things we felt could be improved.
a.Although we moved out, we preferred more thorough cleaning between major project phases.
b.While we are definitely pleased with the overall quality of the project, the work done by a few of TJB's subcontractors did not originally meet our expectations. To his credit, Jason ensured that these issues were resolved to our satisfaction. And his prompt response didn't end with project completion. When we found a few problems after moving back in, Jason has promptly resolved these issues as well.
10. Competitive pricing: We had bids from several contractors (for this project as well as other remodeling efforts we previously considered). TJB was very competitive in their pricing.
If you're wondering about the type of remodeling project TJB Homes and Jason completed for us, it was major. We built an L Rambler in 1972. Every few years we seriously considered building a larger home or remodeling our existing home. But we always found something wrong with the contractor, the site, or the plans. Then we met Jason. He understood our needs and we felt he was someone we could easily work with. We also liked his suggestions for changes to our latest remodeling plans.
As newly retired seniors, we wanted to add functionality and fun to our home - so we could age gracefully in it. For functionality we moved our garage forward (offsetting the door so we have room for a riding snow blower if needed); added a mudroom (huge pantry, second refrigerator, closet and bench/hooks) and laundry room off the kitchen; expanded our front entry and storage space; and enlarged our master bathroom to go from a 32" x 34" fiberglass shower to a 36" x 60" ceramic shower with dual shower heads. For fun we converted our living room into a family room with a 52" TV and ceiling speakers. We also added a screen porch done in tongue and groove cedar with lots of easily opened vinyl windows and a fireplace to extend its usage into the fall and spring. We'll finish the project this summer with a new patio and extensive landscaping.
We love the finished product. With Jason's help we met our goals of fun and functionality. We think the best part will be the porch. It's like sitting outside, without the bugs, the wind, the rain or the direct sun. An unexpected treat was using the porch even in winter. On multiple occasions we've watched the snow swirl around us, while the fireplace kept the temperature 35 degrees warmer than the outside temperature.

When we began our search for a remodeling contractor, we interviewed representatives from 4 companies. Jason's bid from TJB Remodeling was very competitive and by far the most detailed. The fact that TJB Homes has been in business for over 20 years and that they use the same sub-contractors for their remodeling division as they do for their new construction division assured us their work would be held to high standards and be completed on schedule. Since we were planning to remodel almost the entire 1st and 2nd floor with a master bath addition, we felt confident that Jason and TJB Remodeling would be the best choice and they definitely were!
The project officially began in mid October and was to take three-and-a-half months. Jason provided us with a calendar detailing milestones (demolition, framing, window installation, framing inspection, electrical installation, electrical inspection, plumbing, drywall installation, mudding, painting, tile installation, cabinet installation, staining, wood floor refinishing, carpet installation, appliance installation, cabinet top installation, and final inspection) that he and his sub-contractors expected to meet. It also included time for us to choose kitchen appliances, tile, carpet, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, and paint selections. Throughout the project Jason and his sub-contractors were professional, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful. The final inspection was on January 31st, exactly three-and-a-half months after the project started.
From his many product and structural suggestions to promptly returning our phone calls, Jason made what could have been a very stressful experience into an exciting project. We truly love our new home! In fact, we brought TJB Remodeling and their sub- contractors back this summer to build an ironwood deck and concrete patio. Once again they did an excellent job.

It's about one year since our kitchen remodeling project and past due putting our feelings on paper. In this post year, I think I have said, 'I love this kitchen!' at least once a day three out of four days. Thanks again for your design ideas, for using great subcontractors, and for your patience-we could not be happier with the end result (we are at "96" on a happiness scale of "100"). Frank, by the way, says that had he known how much more I was going to cook in a remodeled kitchen, we would have done it years ago.
Both guests who remember the old kitchen and new friends who are in the house for the first time extend compliments first on the cherry cabinets, secondly on the decorator tile an the backsplash, and third on the space utilization. The compliments on the cherry cabinets include cudos for the style, the color, and the finishing-we have had furniture makers, construction foremen, and woodworking hobbyists all make positive comments on the quality of wood and workmanship.
After those big-ticket items, including the granite as well, our guests love the spice drawer, the "double drawer" with the sliding utensil tray, the large full-extension pan drawers, the 18-inch floor tile, and the open space under the peninsula.
I would verify the following for any of your prospective clients:
- We sought bids from five contractors before signing with TJB. You were the most prompt in replying to us, in making design changes, and in answering telephone calls. Some bidders, even though we asked for certain items, would not cost those things for us. You always did.
- We chose TJB because of your attention during our bidding process and because we wanted custom cabinets. You quoted a price which included the cabinet design of our choice, the color of our choice, the interior of our choice, and the blueprint of our choice. Best of all, TJB delivered: I think we used every possible square inch of space and the cabinet design and color not only complements but matches our existing dining room furniture.
- We were very happy not only with Todd Muehlhauser, your cabinet maker, but with the electrician, the plumber, the floor tile guy, and the intercom guy. Even the person who came out just to install two glass shelves and a glass pane to the corner cabinet immediately realized a measurement error had been made and took care of it. Our compliments to you for managing the project so efficiently: even though there were some delays beyond your control, the sub-contractors were always rescheduled as soon as they could do their next part.
- I know that I could never manage a construction project. You were unbelievably patient with our constant questions and our occasional distress about what ultimately was a small detail. Sometimes when I would call your cell phone, I could imagine you looking at the LCD and being tempted not to answer (smile), but you always did or returned the call very quickly.
Jason, we also want to thank you for the idea of opening up the space under the peninsula, for adding the bead board behind the shelving, for insisting on the wide crown molding, including putting crown molding on the open wall without cabinets, and for the sink you picked out for us.
I used to work with a guy who, in response to any distressing situation, would say, "Today's big deal is tomorrow's so what." It's an appropriate cliche for the kitchen - a few tiny details that irritated us at the time are pretty insignificant as far as the whole. In the interests of balanced feedback, however ... if there were a magic wand ...
- We love the sink shape but wish the big bowl were on the right.
- We have a 9 foot TV above the peninsula but wish that space had been the half inch bigger that would have accommodated a 13 foot TV.
- We "think" the peninsula legs would look nicer sitting on top of the tile and bolted down (??) rather than being tiled in.
- We wish we had just one more under-counter light under the glass cabinet.
- We think we would have the pantry doors in line with the refrigerator panels.
I have to say that not one visitor to our home, including two sons and a daughter who examined the finished project at length, have made any negative comments.
In summary, we love our kitchen. We love to entertain and this design works about 500% better than the old one. The most frequent first comment is, "This is so rich looking..." followed soon by the observation that we will get our money out of it both in enjoyment and in resale.

I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with your remodeling job on my townhouse. I feel so fortunate to have found you after my initial experience on this project with another remodeler who turned out to be a scam artist, I am grateful that you were willing to take over a project that someone else had abandoned. I also appreciate the suggestions you made that improved the end result.
I would have written sooner, but I have been too busy quilting in my spacious new quilt room. I have several new projects on the "design wall" and may never leave the room again - except, of course, to soak in the great tub in my wonderful new master bathroom. My friends are all jealous that I have such an ideal space to do my quilting in. My daughter-in-law says she's going to sneak over to soak in my tub the next time I leave town on vacation.
I appreciate that although my attitude during this project was not the most positive, you and your staff and subs always treated me with courtesy and respect. Mostly I appreciate that you did what you said you were going to do when you said you were going to do it! After waiting four months for the other guy to do a two month job, your approach was refreshing and I am exceedingly grateful.
